J2 Studio is a renovation and interior design collaborative, born out of over 40 years of practice and experience with a wide range of residential and commercial projects.
Whether you are remodeling your kitchen or bath, adding an extension to your residence or relocating and redesigning your office, our design expertise and project management experience will streamline the process and improve your environment.

Denise Jones

Principal

Surrounded by talent and creativity from a very young age with family in interior, landscape, graphic and architectural design, it’s no wonder Denise is a natural in her field.

 

Denise is a visionary, expediter and self proclaimed “air traffic controller.” She has the unique combination of creativity tempered by critical and analytical thought which enables her to identify solutions that please the senses while performing a valuable service. She truly believes in and enjoys the collaborative experience and has found that a strong vision developed in concert with a powerful team produces excellent results.

She is in her element amidst the chaos of construction, conceptualizing with architects, collaborating with contractors, scheduling and managing projects and is proud of the work she and her teams deliver.

Denise is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and has served the New Jersey Chapter of ASID-NJ as the newsletter committee chair, a member of the nominating committee and as the Communication Director delivering the newly reimagined chapter magazine, BLUEPRINT, during her term. She is licensed by the State of New Jersey and is an alumni of the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts.

Denise is also a member of The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).

She is loyal and dedicated to her clients, family and her life in the unique, diverse and beautiful Garden State. She’s a proud wife to her architect husband, Patrick M. Jones, AIA and mother to three adult children…as well as two golden retrievers, Bella and Hope.

Tommy Dakouvanos

Senior Designer

With over twenty years of experience in the kitchen and bath design industry, Tommy has a depth of manufacturer knowledge that is extraordinary. He is in his element collaborating with clients and installers to ensure our projects are executed with exacting detail. He is meticulous and takes pride in delivering a precisely designed, specified and installed project. Tommy is a great asset to J2 Design Studio and the perfect compliment to our creative team.

 

Tommy is an alumni of Kean University where he earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts. He has worked in the interior design industry for over 20 years and specialized in kitchen and bath design exclusively for more than 15 years.  His depth of experience will provide valuable wisdom pertaining to the industry overall as well as his specific expertise on the nuanced offerings of a vast number of cabinetry manufacturers. His extensive industry network and sharp awareness of competing manufacturers features and benefits will be a great asset when identifying the right solution to meet a client’s budget, style, and deadline.

Tommy enjoys creating thoughtful and accurately detailed drawings and specifications and will be an invaluable resource to installers as he communicates and coordinates precise installations in the field. Aside from his work, he is an accomplished tournament bowler and heavy metal enthusiast! Welcome Tommy!
